Career Unfulfillment in The Senior Level: What To Do

"The unexamined life is not worth living." Socrates

These are some of the predicaments I've come across from the coaching cases I've handled. It could be your case, too:

Some think that careers are linear and that skills in one industry cannot be translated into another. Or that they have reached the top and there’s nothing left in terms of opportunities. These high-level professionals do not seek solutions, growth, new learning, re-learning or professional help, therefore, they do not know where to go or what to do next, even though they want to and still can.

My advise:

  • If you're wary about taking the first step, start small.

  • Assess and be open about your situation

  • Know your enemy. Which of the situations above is it? Is your situation unique?

  • Seek support, either from family, friends, or a professional

  • Pick up a new book and commit to finishing it

  • Watch short informative videos online

  • Start to change one thing from your routine that you've always wanted to do, and keep the momentum from there

Have you examined your career...or your life, lately?
