Learn how to learn for the Future of Work

We see the rise of so called 'super jobs' which means that technology has not only changed the nature of the skills the job requires but has changed the nature of the work and the job itself.

Super-jobs require technical and soft skills, but also leverage the significant productivity and efficiency gains that can arise when people work with smart machines, data, and algorithms.

With the need to sustain 50-60 year careers as part of a 100-year life, lifelong learning has evolved from a matter of career advancement to workplace survival.

By 2022, everyone will need an extra 101 Days of Learning to stay relevant in this fast paced World of Work. The question is - how do you keep up with the changes and news and what are the best tips, tricks and tools to not only consume information and knowledge but also learn how to implement it?

Join us for a conversation were we discuss the three broader trends in how learning is evolving: it is becoming more integrated with work; it is becoming more personal; and it is shifting – slowly – toward lifelong models.

This time, we will be joined by our Panel, consisting of:

Some of these include global strategic workforce planning (including automation, contingent workers and EY’s internal offshoring) and global analysis on the Future Skills required of the business including development of global Learning and Recruitment strategies.

Following independent external research commissioned by EY, Liz developed global training for Recruiters and Hiring Managers on how to recruit specifically for women and change mindsets on the skills we traditionally recruit at EY. Most recently Liz has been involved in a new global Talent project called Careers@EY where she has led the development of a new Technology Portal for all Technology professionals and this project will soon be expanded to all 280,000 EY employees. This focusses on how EY creates exceptional career journeys and experiences for people.

Liz started out in life as a school teacher before having a career change and deciding to complete her HR qualification. Now several years on, she has never looked back and has been fortunate to work in HR for some of Australia’s largest companies spanning a range of sectors including Professional Services, Legal, IT/Analytics, Start-ups and Manufacturing/FMCG.

As a Mum of 2 boys, Liz loves her job but continues the juggle of work life and mum life and is very fortunate to have amazing flexibility at EY.
