From Corporate Executive to Entrepreneur - The Roadmap [Interview with Bryan Williams]

If you want to go fast, go alone

If you want to go far, go together

Whilst it’s an oldie but goodie and I’d argue that especially on this high tech and digital first world, focusing on high touch and partnerships is even more important to stand out

This is exactly what this interview is all about. Bryan Williams has done exactly that.

I’ve known Bryan for years now and it’s been exciting to follow his journey initially building his corporate career with big brands like Xero where I’ve know him from to now, having taken the leap to running his own advisory and consulting business Hockeystick Consulting.

Whilst it’s been a big shift, the one thing that has remained the same is his focus on building and maintaining strong relationships and leveraging partnerships to grow businesses and careers so I’m excited to learn more from him.

In this interview, we cover:

  • his journey into partnerships (before it was a profession)

  • how he determined when it was the right time for him to leave his corporate executive role to transition into entrepreneurship

  • steps he took prior to leaving and what he did to prepare for the transition

  • things he would do differently based on what he knows now

  • skills he will (continue to) focus on developing
