Are you wasting 86,400? Daily?
What would you do with $86,400?
Just spend it all on one thing, save it, split it amongst many little things?
Every single day, we get 86,400 seconds into our life account.
Hardly anyone I have ever met would say they would just waste the money on something irrelevant.
However, when it comes to our life and energy, this is a completely different story.
Those seconds are so much more powerful than those $$ because you can always make dollars back but you can't make back time.
Time is free, but it's priceless.
💡You can't own it but you can use it.
💡You can't keep it but you can spend it.
💡And once it's lost, you will never get it back.
The average person turns 78 years.
😱 We spend 28.3 years sleeping.
😱We spend 10.5 years of our lives working but over 50% want to leave their current job.
😱We spend 9 years on TV and social media.
😱We spend 6 years doing chores.
😱 We spend 1.3 years commuting.
😱 We spend 2.5 years grooming.
😱 We spend 1.5 years in child care.
😱 We spend 2.5 years shopping.
😱 We spend 3.5 years in education.
😱 We spend 4 years on eating and drinking
(I might spend a few more years on that one ...)
That leaves us with 9 years.
Steve Jobs always said:
Your time is limited. So don't waste it living someone else's time.
Time flies but the good news: you are the pilot.
Imagine you get $86,400 into your bank account. And whether you spend it or not, you have another $86,400 in your account the next day.
What would you do with it?
We think that people and jobs are wasting out time.
But really - it's us giving them the permission to do so.
May was such a whirlwind of a month for me.
I got to speak, meet and work with overall 206 people which was spread across 3 workshops, 4 events and 7x 1:1 coaching clients.
Whilst the people couldn't have been any more different from their background, their life situation and their story, the one and most common problem they (and most of my clients face) is their worry.
They worry about failing, what others may think about them and how they would react when they follow their real interests and passions that holds them back from doing great things.
They let someone else be a priority who treats you like an option.
'What if they think I shouldn't be in this role?'
'Why should I be speaking about this topic when there are others who are much more qualified?'
'Who am I to write blogs when I just get started?'
These are just some of the examples I hear every day from people who are and do great in their lives - in various aspects, not just professionally.
But still, what many don't realise is that it is us who makes the ultimate decision.
We all have 2 voices and unfortunately, one of those 2 little inner voices - the one who constantly tries to keep us safe (but also lazy and worried, eventually anxious and depressed because it prevents us from finding our greatest potential) takes the better of most of us.
Each and everyone has 2 voices and a choice to pick one over the other.
So which will win?
The one you always feed.
👉It's your choice on how you use your time.
👉It's your choice on who you spend time with.
👉It's your choice on what you put energy in.
So where to from here?
Good intentions are great but are meaningless if not followed by actions.
The first and most important part is realising WHY this inner voice who keeps nagging and painting all the worst case scenarios.
🤔Is it a reality we created by our own negative beliefs?
🤔Is it the environment that keeps us in this dark and limiting space?
🤔Is it an experience from the past that has impacted your life more than you thought?
Until those questions are not solved and answered, there is no moving forward.
Those beliefs form and are part of our identity.
If they are not replaced by positive and enabling beliefs (which turn into habits), we will always fall back into the traps and keep lingering around the level of good, but never experience the level of great.
